Internet Search: Search Result not compacted

Hi,

sometimes a Search Result does not get compacted (every part is shown).
If I open a NZB from lets say NZBIndex for the same upload it does get compacted.
So it looks to me it's an Internet Search Issue.

Compaction is basically guess work. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Some of the older records were compacted with an older compactor too meaning, they might be compacted if added today even if they weren't compacted back when they were inserted.

Some of the posting groups seem to make things difficult to compact on purpose. You could load the NZB using the "load NZB" button. If it shows compacted in Newsbin, that means it's already fixed.

I've send Dexter an example from today.

The Subject doesn't look strange to me - it's something like

text - [$1/$2] - "$F" - $AS text yEnc

Could the problem be that $AS (Total Size) is after $F (Filename)?
I'm just guessing because I never had problems with: text [$AS] text [$1/$2] - "$F" text yEnc

What I don't understand - who is responsible for compacting? Newsbin itself or the Internet Search?
As I already said, this upload gets compacted if I load an external NZB.

Spaces between the numbers and the slash. This compacts in Newsbin but, the inserter isn't as current as Newsbin is. We'll have to update the inserter to match Newsbin.

The thing that does the inserting and compacting is derived from Newsbin. As Newsbin gets better at it, so does the inserter. Currently Newsbin is better at it than the inserter is. It'll need to be updated. Because it's a production system though, I'll get a new one to Dex and he'll have to test it awhile before production can be updated.

I had to add specific support for the spaces. That's why I suspect they do it on purpose. Sometimes the number to the right is random too.
