Hi,

When trying to download a particular text post, I get this error:

[22:47:29] HIGH InterSocket - SSL Zlib Compression Added
[22:47:31] HIGH NNTPSocket - XFEATURE COMPRESS GZIP

[22:47:32] HIGH NNTPSocket - 290 feature enabled
[22:47:32] HIGH NNTPSocket - ARTICLE <ecednc5CS48VeoPQnZ2dnUVZ8tqdnZ2d@giganews.com>

[22:47:32] HIGH NNTPSocket - 220 0 <ecednc5CS48VeoPQnZ2dnUVZ8tqdnZ2d@giganews.com>
[22:47:33] HIGH - Single File download Failure <Name of post here>

I'm using astraweb as normal master server and giganews as fill slave server, with 8 connections each.

Any help would be much apreciated.

Thanks!

Text posts don't contain files - you can't download a text post on usenet as if it were a binary with Newsbin. Try Read Post Body. It gets saved automatically in your data folder in 'Read Posts'.

Thanks mate.

Also, When I disconnect from some servers or sometimes restart the application newsbin 'forgets' the progress of files partially downloaded, for example if I download 500mb of a 2gb file then change servers then it will not display 25% of the file or collection shaded, I need to start it again then it will show me. Also the size counter in that row for that particular file read 0kb/2GB.

Any way to fix this? I cant keep track of how much I have left.

Thanks.

Well, as a rule don't manually disconnect from servers, but as far as quitting, it should keep what's already written to disk. There is a setting for caching downloads in memory before writing them out, think it's called MemCacheLimit, and I don't think that amount of download gets saved. If you've fiddled with that, perhaps it's too high, you could always set it to 0, but iirc it's not all that high by default.

[SETTINGS]
MemCacheLimit=0

Is what I'd probably set in the configuration. It'll mostly write everything it downloads to disk using that mode. That's actually the new default in 6.2.
