NB stalls while downloading cache = 0 possible SSD issue?

I did a fresh install of Win 7 x64 yesterday because I upgraded my system to a SSD drive from Crucial (M4). I am using 6.11. I am having frequent issues now where the cache indicator in NB goes to zero which stops the downloading. My download path is a HD, but NB system files are on the SSD. There seems to be some issues when I am creating thumbnails with an app called AcdSee Pro 4. I am thinking the SSD might have too much I/O going on with NB? I don't have much experience with SSD's so just taking a guess. The only other app running is FF 7.01.

Well, cache of zero means your disk drive is slowing everything down. Probably has nothing to do with the SSD since the SSD isn't used for download. How much RAM do you have? Are you running 32 or 64 bit?
If you're running 64 bits and if you have > 4 gigs of RAM. You might exit Newsbin, add the setting
[SETTINGS]
MemCacheLimit=100
To the configuration file. This will make newsbin buffer most of your download files into RAM.
It's true that you can only get 100% out of the drive. If this only happens when you're doing thumbnails, then nothing but, a faster disk will probably solve it.

I have 8 gig of ram using x64. I made the change, so far it looks good. I am creating thumbnails and cache is 192.

One thing i have found is the download drive can get quite fragmented with bits being added and removed all the time, will obviously not help the situation
