System Crash Restore newsbin question(s)

I just had a catastrophic system crash. :(

I lost most of my C: drive. I do seem to have most of the files, just lost the ability to boot Win7.

I want to reinstall newsbin and hopefully recover the latest state. Is there a (relatively) easy way to recover and where would I find such things as the various groups spool files and whatever I would need to get back up and running.

I hope this is enough info.

I am running Win7 and had the latest version of Newsbin installed.

Thanks

Why not stick the Win7 disk back in and let it "Upgrade" the current install? You shouldn't lose anything. The bad thing about doing that is that if this was the result of a virus infection you might not clean everything out.

Can you boot something and access the drive? Or mount the drive in another machine? If you copy the newsbin data folder and the NBI file used for the configuration, you ought to be able to restore. You might have to hand edit the NBI file with wordpad to set the proper drive letters and data path. The data path can be anywhere as long as the NBI tells Newsbin where it is.

When you re-install Newsbin, go through the motions of the regular install. Then exit Newsbin and double-click the old NBI. That should import the old settings.

Thanks for your help. It looks like its working (mostly).

Only thing is, I can't find my registration info. is there a way to locate it? Or can you provide it again?

Right now I am running in Trial Mode.

Thanks

Oops! Trial Mode just expired. :(

There's a lost key request form on the website. You can always use the support form too. We don't handle keys in the forum.
