Strange filtering

Postby Beemer2 » Sun Jul 31, 2011 3:35 am

I use 6.0 Build 1019 64bit. Today I'm seeing all new posts, 6 days up to today, marked with the ref circle icon. As an example in a.b.sheet-music, my filter is called Documents and filters as follows:

Min - none
Max - 1gb
Crosspost 3
Age 7 days

Subject accept
[.]mobi
[.]par
[.]par2
[.]pdf
[.]r[a0-9][r0-9]
[.]^RE
[.]^REQ
[.]yENC

Subject reject

(various uninteresting-subject words)

Filename accept

empty

Filename reject

empty

With the fiter on the post list is blank. The only way that I can see headers is to press the filter button to switch the filters off. Then I have to use the bypass filters mode.

I have been using NB all week without this problem and have not amended any filters.

Help requested!

Just did a quick check of that group with your filter specs and it worked fine. As of my post time I have filter results ranging from a couple hours ago back, scattered regularly, showing a low volume but active group. I'm assuming when you disable the filter, you get similar? I'm thinking the uninteresting words aren't so uninteresting. Or, possible you have a space or three in some of those filters? Not sure if that could affect things tho...

Also, I know it's obvious, but did you enable Hide Old?

I did not select posts then mark them as old. Display Settings window is set to "None". I have never downloaded any of the posts marked with the red circle with the horizontal line.

The status column says "OldIdle/New for all headers which is rather cryptic. I went into filters and disabled Subject Accept and Subject reject and the circles are still there.

There is nothing in the Filename accept or Filename reject tabs

Do you have anything in the failed list? If so, I'd clear it out. The failed list can caused the failed indicator on the post list.

Quade,

The failed list was emptied two days ago and is currently clear. I have tried using all of the other filters including global but ALL posts are now showing the red circle with the line. :(

I have no idea. Try Downloading All from that group. That deletes your locally stored spool and re-snags it(that's a fairly small group). Alternatively, make a new filter from scratch.

I'm not sure what you're expecting me to tell you at this point. It sounds like your filters are filtering the posts out.

The reason you see the red circle with the minus sign is that the filters are turned off an it's showing you what it WOULD filter out if the filters were enabled. The power button icon enables and disables the filters.

Now fixed. There was an error in my global filter setting.

Happy now!
