Small buttons flyouts?

I'd like to see flyouts for the meaning of all the cool new minibuttons - like for the bigger ones in the top menue(s). Feasible? Optionally selectable? Or is it possible to view both, button and text?

Moreover, I'd like to stay with the english version. How can I avoid the automatic installation of the german one? There are some ambiguities - same word for header and article (Beiträge), for instance.

No blaming, I know how difficult a localization can be, bt,dt.

I can dwell my mouse over the buttons and get a text popup telling me what they do. Is that what you mean?

Yes, I can do that too, but only in the top button bar . It does not work for the buttons in the bars in the lower half of the window, where the download list, Failed Downloads etc. are. Nothing pops up there.

Nope, at least not in the upgrade mode. The upgrade from 6.00 to 6.01, though, gave me the english version back - I just want to keep it now!

I tried every button, including the small ones. I wonder if the problem is that it's not in english? You might try deleting the workspace.xml which resets the GUI and then see if they show up.

Solved, but different from what was probable: The machine on which newsbin runs, sits in the basement, and I operate it mostly via VNC (realvnc). Everything works fine - just the flyouts of the small buttons seem to be an exemption. Out of intuition, I walked down and tried it on the real machine - flyouts everywhere! Since I am not familiar with the innards of VNC, I have no explanation.

So, sorry to have stolen your nerves and lifetime, I owe you at least a virtual cold one.
