Deleted Posts "Reappear"

I am running 6.0b7: 00 6B A2 A4 25 80.
My Setup Options for Download, Display, and Storage Age are all set for 900.

It appears that deleted posts "reappear" after I close down Newsbin & then restart it.
Here is what I did:
1)Added a new group and select Download All
2)Went through the group and deleted many (older) posts in the Posts tab.
3)Exit out of Newsbin.
4)...(some time passed)
5)Restart Newsbin
6)Select the same group & do a "Show All Posts"
7)The previously deleted posts appear in the Posts tab

Am I doing something wrong? I want to "clean-up" the new group by not storing/displaying headers of no interest to me. Is there a better/more efficient way to do this?

are you using the delete key on the keyboard or delete fromthe right click menu or shift+del ?

I am using the right-click "Delete Posts"

Dex discovered that when you Shift-Delete a crapload of files, don't know the exact threshold, it'll only delete about 2/3rds. Haven't looked into it yet. I deleted 700,000 files and 200,000 returned. So, it's something to look at.

I probably (likely) deleted >700k headers.
If Shift-Del is equivalent to right-click "Delete Posts", it looks like this is the same as what you experienced.
Looking forward to the fix.

Running Beta 7.

Same thing is happening to me as well, whether I use Shift Del Keys or through the Right Click Menu.

Also, has the program blow up trying to delete a group with over 1 Million Posts. Blow up was repeated multiple times.

If you do a large delete and then immediately close the tab, it'll probably crash. Haven't decided what to do about that yet.

I've been having this problem too - all the 'reappearing' posts are between 600 and 650 days old.
Searched the forums, but couldn't see any newer posts mentioning this, so hope it's OK continuing such an old topic.

Have you been able to find a fix yet?
BTW, I'm using Version 6.11 Build 1342 x64

Yeah, worked on it and believed it was put to bed. If you still have a spool_v1 folder, you might delete it and see if it makes a difference.

Unfortunately there isn't a Spool_v1 folder. Any other ideas?

Not sure if it's of any use, but I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1
And thanks for the quick reply!

One method to test is pick a group that definitely has the problem but isn't too massive, then right click/download all headers and see if the behaviour remains. This will completely wipe your old spool and replace it, maybe it got pooched somehow.

The problem group (the only one that seems to have been affected) was alt.binaries.teevee unfortunately!
Didn't really see any choice, so followed your advice to download all headers (all 1100+ days of them lol).

Think I read somewhere on these forums that deleting too many headers at once could cause some similar problems, so I limited the number I deleted in a single click to no more than 100,000 - and it seems to have worked! The deleted headers have finally 'stayed' deleted!

Many thanks for your help in sorting this - was getting damn annoying!
