b5 and b6 taking long time loading headers / posts

Postby bryan81814 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 1:24 pm

It is taking a long time to load downloaded headers and posts from a group to view. Did not notice this in b4. Any suggestions to fix this or is this something you (others as well)have also noticed? This is occuring with groups of varying posts sizes also not just boneless. Changing display age to a small number eg. 100 days does not seem to improve performance. Ideas?
This is the only listing in the logging tab: [10:43:35] HIGH - High Speed File Creation Mode: Enabled

If you're loading at the same time the background is importing (from an update) it's going to be slow because your disk drive is running as fast as it can. If you're downloading to the same disk the data folder is on, you have the same issue. A disk only has 100% to give, ask more and things slow down.

Thanks Quade, that is true. I was looking for a post about 650 days old. It eventually caused the computer to crash. I thought that was unusual to say the least. After reducing the display age the system went back to normal. Great work on the GUI! Please keep it up!
