On multipart downloads, I.E. rared and par files, the size of the downloaded parts never goes to the full amount listed. For example a par2 file is downloaded it is listed in the size column as 20 / 22 KB [01], so it has one post and is 22 KB in size, but it never goes too 22 it always says at 20. This happens on all the files that I have looked at.

This not a big deal, but on files with many posts where you can't see the individual post hashes on the progress bar you can be inclined to think that it did not download all the posts.

are you on about the entire compacted set or individual files?

Sizes are just estimates. With Usenet, you can' tell how big a file is until you download it.

Both. Neither ever gets to the full size listed in size line, at least the ones that stick around long enough to be seen.
