Data vs Download folders, SSD vs HDD? Which belongs where?

Postby EvanVanVan2 » Sat Dec 01, 2018 1:26 pm

Is it preferable to have the Data folder on my main SSD and the Download folder on my larger (secondary) HDD? Or vice-versa? (Mostly wondering about the writing speeding benefits)

Thanks

How fast are you downloading? You have to be downloading pretty fast for it to really matter. I like having the data folder on an SSD but that's just my personal preference.

700-800 Mbps. I have my chunk cache size upped to 400 (maybe that's the new default? I don't really remember doing it but that's what it's set at). It does drop to 0/400 regularly. I just installed a spare secondary hard drive mostly to see if there are any benefits to splitting the up data and download folders as I've read.

Thank you
