Weird nzb poster names

Postby dane » Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:28 am

Good morning

Today's MOTD about weird nzb subjects reminded me that I come across nzb files with irregular poster names. Newsbin won't process these files and they don't even show up in the newsbin download queue. Files with poster fields like:

poster="nEwZ[NZB] <pr3d@NET.world>"

will fail. However, removing the irregular characters such as "&" makes the nzb file usable. Is there a way to overcome this?

Thanks,
DaDane

If you email me one I can check it out. What version are you using?

Ts@newsbin.com.

I'm prepping 6.81B3 so, getting a fix in how would be best.

HI Guys - since you helped me solve this problem through email, I thought I'd post the relevant parts in case anyone else had similar problems.

"I had searched the posterlockout file for:
nEwZ[NZB] <pr3d@NET.world>

but what the file contained was:
nEwZ\[NZB\] \<pr3d@NET\.world\>

so - no match. Didn't realize that the file entries might contain regular expressions."

Once I deleted this entry, the nzbs worked as they're supposed to.
Thanks for helping in solving this problem.
