downloaded files not showing as downloaded

hi, am using newsbinpro 6.72 build 4776,,,the last 2 or 3 versions of newsbin are not displaying downloaded files properly. If i download a small file from a post it is shown as a green square ..but when i close and restart newsbin the same file is no longer shown as downloaded (blue circle). The file itself is actually downloaded and useable. If i download a complete post, only the first file of that post is shown as downloaded after restart. tried turning dup checker off and on but no help.. Thanks

There's a file in the data folder called "DownloadMarker.db3". It tracks downloaded files. You might need to exit Newsbin, delete it, then see if it starts tagging properly.

I deleted the file, restarted newsbin but problem persists. soon as i restart newsbin, the files are shown as not downloaded.

Do you get any warnings when you start Newsbin about not being able to write to the data folder?

no warnings at all that I can see.

In the options, if you select "Open Data Folder" is the folder that appears the same one you deleted the file from?

yes, that's how i found it..

any further thoughts on this issue? I updated to 6.73RC24820..same problem...am using windows 8.0 as my computer will NOT upgrade to 8.1...and you can't upgrade to 10 directly from 8.0..go figure..

You could see if that file increases in size as you download. It won't increase much per file. It should be constantly increasing with each file you download.

Other than that you might want to re-install Newsbin from scratch.
