Cannot upgrade to 6.62

Postby rnem170 » Tue Apr 12, 2016 10:57 am

When I try and upgrade using the installer, it hangs at "Allow Newsbin through the firewall". If I exit my firewll, it makes no difference. I still get the same error.
Any ideas?

The full installer fails in the same way.

It seems it did actually upgrade, as I had the same error after a full reinstall (couldn't uninstall it properly either).
After killing the task, there's an icon on the desktop which seems to work fine - but all the associations are now missing.

That's really strange. What firewall are you using? Are you also running some other Internet Security software?

I'm using Outpost Secury Suite - but like I say, I exit it....

Bizarre, I just ran the installer again and it worked fine - I have rebooted though... does it always restore all the file associations on an upgrade?

Yes, upgrade should re-establish file associations.

You know, a reboot is usually required when you disable security software to make sure it is really out of the system.
