Error and Exit

Postby TBlack » Mon Sep 07, 2015 6:45 pm

6.61RC1 Win7 SP1 32-Bit 4Gb RAM

Changed ChunkCacheSize=1000 (which had been working fine) to =2000 to try it out. Downloaded a 6Gb file. After receiving 11 100,000Kb file parts, NB errored out. I saw the Microsoft C+ Error Message, and then NB closed. Here is the Error Report.wer file from Windows. Seems I ran out of Memory????

Just did it again. Saw a Message R625 Pure Function Call and then NB closed.

6.61RC1 Win7 SP1 32-Bit 4Gb RAM

You probably ran Newsbin out of RAM. I'm not sure I'd even use 1000 in 32 bit windows.

2 GB per process is typically the limit in 32 bit windows and 2000 = 2 Gb or so.

Ok, too much.

From other threads, it seems NB will bring back concurrent downloading and UnRar repair and assembling like in 6.56R, which always worked for me with the default 200 chunkcachesize. I do hope that comes back.

Thanks

You could always switch back to 6.56. Are you downloading 40 gigs sets? I don't really even notice it with 1-2 gig sets.

Can't go back to 6.56R because MessageIDFilters is broke for some reason. Have tried everything from new installs to new Filter.db3 with a Profile named MessageIDFilter, the posts still get through. Wish I could get it to work, but am stumped at this point, and you said you deleted those files from you PC.

Usual size is .5-1-2G files, but some are 4 to 7 to 10 or 12G.

Thanks
