Watch Lists and posts currently being uploaded

Postby gj8 » Mon Jun 15, 2015 12:58 pm

Hi,

Sorry if this should be in the beta forum. I added my serial#, but I can't seem to post there.

My understanding is that the watch lists do scheduled searches based on the 'automatic search interval'. When the search triggers, it looks for all posts and automatically downloads them if that's enabled. Those posts are then flagged as 'old' and the next run just looks for any newer posts, right? My question is what happens if, when that occurs, a large post is in the middle of being uploaded to usenet. Is the post, which would at that time be "incomplete", then marked "old" and never automatically reattempted?

If that's the case, would it be possible to have the watch list somehow reattempt or hold off on "incomplete" posts for some period of time?

Btw - I love the watch list feature! Since so many posts are deleted so rapidly on usenet anymore, it's almost necessary to do something along these lines to get any complete posts. Thanks for implementing it.

Thanks
Graham
