Sorry to hijack a thread, but it's a bit related to an old post I made when v6.50 was released.
I understand WHY you've added the hex number (due to par2 files being posted with the same names); but if a user sets Newsbin to download to a folder named for the NZB, isn't this a non-issue with the par2 files having the same name? If that is true, then couldn't the hex number be automatically disabled when a user checks the box to d/l to a folder named after the NZB? Autopar should run according to where the par2 files are, correct? If so, this seems like d/l to different folders wouldn't "confuse" Autopar and makes the hex numbers unnecessary.
Using v6.42 I'm d/l'ing to folders named after the NZB file and many of the par2 files are named the same (0.par2, 1.par2, 2.par2) across hundreds of different posts and I'm not having issues with my par2s working nor with Autopar working. However, that all changed for me once the hex numbers were added in v6.50.
I'd like to have either of the following added:
If user sets to d/l to a folder named after NZB, automatically shut off the addition of the hex number to par2 files (if my assumption in first paragraph above is correct).
OR
Like the OP requested, add a setting to turn on/off hex number additions to par2 files.
