Download speed cut by 2/3 with ISP switchover

Postby jkauff » Fri Jan 02, 2015 4:09 pm

I recently moved into an apartment building wired for Comcast internet. I was previously using Verizon FIOS, and was getting NB download rates just less than 12. Now I'm lucky to get 4. I ran a utility that is supposed to detect NTTP throttling, and it didn't find any throttling. Using a VPN actually made it slower.

Anyone out there with Comcast getting better speeds than I am? I REALLY miss my FIOS.

What bandwidth were you paying for with Verizon? Comcast?

I pay Cox for 150mb and I get that downloading from Astraweb. I didn't get it from Usenet.
