Giganews max IP addresses

Usually this happens while I'm asleep but I never cared because the next morning everything was downloaded. I cases where I'm not as patient (i.e. awake), what sort of solutions are available?

Coming in via VPN and the connection fails multiple times a day these days requiring me to reconnect. That usually gives a new IP which I suspect is what causes this error. Gig still thinks I'm connected with the old one. I tried kill all connections, but I guess that only works if I'm connected with the old IP that "was" the connection!

Well, not using the VPN is one solution.

I can think of other solutions but, none are really practical to most people. Like buying a small instance on Amazon cloud and running your own proxy on that instance so, Newsbin connections to the proxy and the proxy then connections to giga from a fixed IP.
