Not able to install in root of external drive

Why doesn`t Newsbin install into the root (Here on an external USB drive) of a drive ?
I have to make a folder for installing and then copy that files into the root.

You're better off putting the data folder on the external drive and leaving the program in "Program Files".

I'd say it doesn't work because not many people are doing it so, it's not something we test for. Typically it's a bad idea.
