Chunk path too long

Postby darkfalz » Sun Jul 27, 2014 1:26 am

G'day,

I'm currently downloading a series that is getting a lot of broken / failed repair/unrar because the chuck size names are extremely long, and in combination with the %LocalAppData%\Newsbin\chunks path exceed the Windows path limit. This has manifested in truncated filenames (which AutoPar doesn't recognise, obviously) as well as pieces not assembling at all.

I'm using 6.52

Is this new behaviour or particular to people posting stuff to usenet with very long filenames?

Windows has a 255 byte max combined path/filename limit. I think the best solution might be to move the data folder someplace shallow. Like C:\NBData\ or something.

Likely your current issue is simply a results of the specific download though.
