unraring with low disk space

Postby ashrafxx » Thu Jan 23, 2014 9:41 pm

Hi

I noticed this very annoying issue with the new newsbin. when unraring is unsuccessful (low disk space) newsbin delete the rar & par files and the extracted files are incomplete (did not finish extraction).

So in summary newsbin delete rar/par files on unsuccessful unrar.

Cheers

Note: Thank you for fixing the proxy problem. working great now with no problems.

Apparently RAR doesn't tell me it failed. My suggestion for now is to always have 2-3 times the amount of free disk space as you have queued up in the download list.

Interesting!! it never did that with the older version. i have a small HDD and always have just enough to download something i want. sometimes i even download and then extract to external USB HDD. Hope rar labs fix this problem soon.

I think download internal and extract external is a good idea. You can do that pretty easily by setting the unrar path to the external drive. I need to find a small usb disk and make it unrar to it. See what happens.

I can say, it actually acts that way.
Last night I forgot to make room on the HDD for the extracted files. And when I looked in the folder this morning I noticed extracted files with 0kb size - the disk had run out of space. NB tried to extract the finished downloads with no success, and deleted the parts. I could recover them from the recycle bin though.
