Driving me nuts, NZB file to loaded folder, etc

Postby sunishun » Sun Dec 08, 2013 11:01 pm

My computer crashed. I'm trying to get things back to how they were with Newsbin. I've searched these forums and the net and am getting frustrated trying to figure this out.

How can I get my NZB files to go to my newsbin\Loaded folder after loading and extracting?

How can I get, for example, televisionShow.nzb to extract any sample to folder: newsbin\sample-televisionShow

And the main file to folder: newsbin\televisionShow

Also, how can I set it so that NZB files placed in the newsbin folder are automatically downloaded. All this worked before my crash.

Thanks, I know the answer must be in the forum, but I've searched and searched and can't get it straight.

1 - You need to configure an NZB Autoload folder in the options.

2 - You probably want to include "$(NZBFILE)" in the download path for the NZB Autoload folder you create.

3 - I'd suggest a dedicated NZB Folder. One that's no shared with other applications.

Thanks for the super fast response, Quade.

I do have a dedicated NZB folder. I setup the autoload folder.

Should I include "$(NZBFILE)" in the Download or unRAR path? Is that only in the NZB watch folder options? Or also in the Basic Settings Main Download Folder, Download folder for downloads from NZB Files and unRAR Folder?

My latest try is newsbin\$(NZBFILE)\$(FILENAME)\ in the Basic Settings unRAR folder.

Works pretty good, but each NZB file extracts to a random folder created. x.nzb creates folder x. NZBs that follow, extract to the same folder instead of creating their own folders. It's crazy, b.nzb extracts to c folder, which is for NZB file that downloaded previously. And so on. Should I attach a screen shot?

I've tried many options with "$(NZBFILE)" and "$(FILENAME)" and combo of the two. Nothing seems to work like I expect.

I wouldn't use $(FILENAME). The problem is the filename comes from the subject and people aren't real consistent with their posting filenames.

With $(NZBFILE), when it loads an NZB, the filename of the NZB file is included in the download path. You can make it as complicated or simple as you want. I think you should should work on simple to start off with. It's not going to split out samples into a different folder.

The problem with all the path settings is that it can be hard to trouble-shoot if you set a bunch of them. If it was me, I'd disable the unrar path setting altogether. Then just use the download path to download the files where you want and let Newsbin unrar them in place. Then once you get that working, you can experiment with other options.
