Downloads going nowhere...

Hi there. Just upgraded to 6.50b8. Changed no settings.

Grabbed a few things to download. No thumbnails appear. Status icons show the files were downloaded, but the files didn't end up where I thought they should. I have all my folder locations set like this: H:\nb\$(GROUP)\, which has been working great until this morning.
I also just checked the Files tab area. It shows that nothing was downloaded. Although, in the download window on the program I could see the files being downloaded one by one.
Hmmm.
Any clues?

Is the H drive still there? This sounds like classic "drive not there anymore" symptoms.

Oh yeah, it's there. I typically have some of it's folders open when Newsbin is running. I have Newsbin's working files on it as well.

Have you looked in the logging tab? How about the failed list?

Logging tab's working. No files in the failed list.
Still no thumbnails and looks like no folder on the H:\ drive is being updated, when I check the folder dates.

And, like I said, everything was working just fine until I replaced the last version with 6.5b8, and I haven't tweaked any settings.

Hmmm. Noticing that some files do download, from other threads. Interesting. Never seen this before, where things download from one group, and they LOOK like they're downloaded from another group, but really nothing is happening.

I've got nothing really to work with. It's working here. You're not getting any errors so, I just don't know. Might pause, add a file to the download list, check the download path listed in the download list and see if it's what you expect.

Might look in the chunks folder in the data folder and see if any chunks show up.

Might try downloading to some other drive.

I guess it turns out that the files I was trying to download are suspect.

This morning I upgraded to the new version. Ran it. Went to a group and started a download. Had these problems, so assumed it was due to the new version. I never went any farther than that. Didn't try any other groups or downloads.

This afternoon I tried again, in different groups and everything was working. I went back to the group and files in question from this morning. They still looked like they were downloading, but they weren't. I realized they were all posted by the same poster. I tried a few other files in that group by other posters, and they downloaded just fine.

So, looks like the problem is NOT with Newsbin, but with some particular poster's files.

Maybe it's still something I need to fix.
