headers download but posts dont show up

I had to reload 6.42 due to other issues. since then I can see the headers download, but when I click show posts the 'new records' column is empty and no posts are there.

did I mis- set a filter somewhere?

1 - Look down at the "Cache" line (near the bottom). If you see a number in parens "(NNN)" that represents headers waiting to import. That number should go down over time. You won't see all of the headers till that number goes away.

2 - If you have a shortish storage age, say 300 days but, do a "Download all Headers" from the server. Newsbin will probably throw away 1100 days of the header download because it's older than Storage age. Just something you need to check.

I'm getting a very similar problem, headers are downloaded but running a search just takes "an age" if ever to give a result, never used to do this either, what can I check to get searching back on track?
I am running 6.42 and can see a Cache reading of 92/100 (1031) but this number in brackets never seems to go down very fast, nothing is being downloaded......

Until the number in brackets gets back to zero then the headers have not been processed into the header databases and thus not available for displaying or searching.

I am having this same problem. For the last 3 days seems to be getting worse. I now have a 6 hour and 15 min. gap between available headers. For me they never show up no matter what I try. Cache shows: 90/100 with no numbers in brackets. Also my storage age is 1200 days. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA.

What server are you using? What version of Newsbin?

6.50B6 and before were showing GMT time instead of local time meaning the time it showed was 5 hours off for me. It you're in the fly-over states, it'll be off even more.

I'm using Newsbin Pro 6.42 Build 2146, Newsdemon US. The headers are actually not showing up in Newsbin. I can download with Newsleecher (which is a total pain) and get the missed headers.

Right click the group, "Post Storage/Use Download Age" then set a download age of "2" then update the group. It should download the last 2 days worth of headers and overlay them on top of the existing headers. Lets see if that gets it back on track.

If that doesn't work, you might want to purge the group and try again.
