Files being flushed from files list?

Postby Beemer2 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:06 am

For the second time in recent weeks I have found my Files List completely empty although immediately before it had around downloaded 3000 files. The last thing I did outside of NB was to delete 2000 of these which were in an external usb drive. The remaining 1000 or or so files are still in internal drives but do not appear in the files list. I did not delete any files manually from within the Files List in NB 6.42 build 2146.

Newsbin will remove them from the list when they're removed from disk or moved to a new location. What's the chance you moved the other files?

I just checked and all downloaded files from yesterday are still in the correct download folder. It is possible that the File List had exceeded the 4K point, However surely that would have only resulted in <4k being deleted not above that level?

It depends on a bunch of factors. For example if you had downloaded 4000 and you then moved or deleted them, the 4000 that go pushed out of the list by the new downloads wouldn't come back when the 4000 that were delete got purged from the list. It's also possible something corrupted the files list DB and they just went away.
