6.42 filters and automatic downloads

Postby e10kstarfire » Mon Apr 01, 2013 5:37 pm

OK, never tried this before but getting stuck.

I created a filter named "Wanted" and in this put one subject accept filter, I also set minimum size and age.

If I choose this filter against the post list for my folder it runs correctly and filters out the single subject post I expect.

I then assign this filter to a folder I created which inside it contains several groups, I also enabled automatic download.

What I was expecting when downloading new headers is anything that matched the subject filter to get downloaded, but it doesn't work, newsbin adds a whole load of stuff nothing like the filter to my download list?

Is there any guide for this, I'm confused?

Thanks!

Might try assigning the filter to the individual groups and see what happens. 6.50 makes this much easier. It has dedicated watch entries you setup to capture all matching files and save them to a named list.

Ok, that seemed to work.

So you have to set the filter on every group in a folder rather than the folder itself?

I have only set autodownload on the folder itself and that seemed to work so thought the same would happen for the filter?

edit: ok may give 6.50 a try, thanks
