How to move to a new news server without downloading headers

I would like to change from old news server I have been using for a couple of years, to a new server. In my spool directory I have 120 GB of downloaded headers and would like to move to the new server without having to re-download everything.

Right now I have the following server options:
old_news_server, download headers, not a fill server.
new_news_server, do not download headers, fill server.

I would like to end up with only the new news server:
new_news_server, download headers, not a fill server.

What steps are required to only use the new news server?

1 - Set a "Download Age" of 5.

2 - Disable the old server, enable the new to download headers.

3 - Select all the groups, right click "Post Storage/Use Download Age".
3.1 - If you want to be certain this worked, search the spool_v6 folder for "range.db3". If you find any, delete them.

4 - Download headers normally. Newsbin will download the last 5 days worth of headers from the new server and then be ready to just download headers normally like the old server.

Quade, I asked about this in the past. Why not make this a built in function instead of something have to be done manually?

It is built in. Set a short download age on a new server and you're done. How's Newsbin supposed to know what you want to happen with the news server? If you're going from a short retention to a long retention server, you might want it to download all the headers again. Whenever I assume something about how people want to use Newsbin, it never works out.

The way I'm suggesting works 100% of the time though. Even if you used to have this server in the list and some information about the server was left over from the last time you used it.
