Hard Drive running at 100%

Postby mp3deej » Tue Dec 25, 2012 9:31 pm

Hello,
I am running Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit and Newsbin version 6.41b3. Whenever I start Newsbin my hard drive runs at 100%. Even when the program is idle.

Disk 0 (C:)

ST31000524AS

Capacity: 932 GB
Formatted: 932 GB
System disk: Yes
Page file: Yes

Read speed 4.0 KB/s
Write speed 1.3 MB/s
Active time 100%
Average response time 1785 ms

When I close the program the drive goes back to normal. What's going on? Is it because Newsbin is not compatible with Windows 8? Help....

Do you see "(NNN)" (n = numbers) down in the "Cache" line on the status bar? If so, Newsbin is importing headers into the header database. It'll keep processing them, till it hits zero.

You could install and run "ProcMon" to see what it's doing too.

Newsbin was developed under Win8. I use Win8 on everything.
