Can't get headers in a.b.hdtv

Postby BuckoA51 » Mon Dec 24, 2012 10:25 am

Hi everyone and seasons greetings,

So I wanted to browse the group alt.binaries.hdtv but Newsbin won't show me any records any newer than 126 days ago.

I've tried download all headers and I've tried download latest, but I still get nothing newer than 126 days. I tried deleting the group and re-adding it but still nothing. When displaying the headers once I did get this really weird error message:-

[02:41:16] ERROR - Server:EasynewsServer Reports bogus MaxGroup > MinSpool Groups numbers :496565828:2147483647 - alt.binaries.hdtv
[11:34:12] ERROR - Server:EasynewsServer Reports bogus MaxGroup > MinSpool Groups numbers :496985586:2147483647 - alt.binaries.hdtv

I'm using Newsbin Pro 6.41 on a Windows 7 x64 machine with 8gb ram and a Q6600 processor. My news server is Easynews.

Any ideas anyone?

Right click the group "Post Storage/Use Download Age" then set the download age to however many days you want it to pull.

Hi Quade,

The first bit I understood, but I see no option to set the "download age" anywhere? Sorry for being dim.

"Download age" is a regular setting in the options. When you do the "Use Download Age" thing it clears Newsbin's memory of the last records it downloaded so, it'll use "Download Age" to pull the range of headers next time it downloads header.

If "Download Age" is set to a large number, it'll pull more headers than you might want.
