Corrupt Spool files?

Postby Bazza42 » Wed Dec 12, 2012 3:19 am

HI,

I would appreciate any assistance.

I use GigaNews together with NewsBin 6.40 Build 2059 and Windows 7.

Since December 9th pretty much all the downloaded headers, in all my subscribed groups, are showing as
incomplete. This is confirmed by looking at the 'properties' for sample headers.

Other people using GN confirm that it is operating normally across the groups to which I susbcribe so it appears
that something is corrupted within NewsBin or on the hardware it is using which is an SSD. This is rather
confirmed as I did a sample upload to a group which appeared to complete successfully although it again showed as
incomplete. Someone who d/loaded it confirmed that the upload had been successful although NB was still showing it as
incopmplete the following day after I had d/loaded the new headers.

I have tried the following for a sample couple of groups:

1. Downloading the headers again from disk
2. Downloading the headers again using the option on the 'Groups' page.
3. Deleting the incomplete headers on the individual page relating to that group and reloading the headers from the group page.
4. Deleting one of the groups entirely and reinstating it as a new group and downloading its headers again.

All have failed in that the 'incompletes' reappear.

I would prefer not to lose all my settings if I can avoid it, so I'm at a loss what to do next, other than the uninstall
of NewsBin followed by a 'fresh' install.

Could you offer any advice please?
