Slow startup

Well, the program opens quickly, but then it just sits there "busy" for about 40 seconds. After it finally gets to the message pop-up, it sits there again for what seems to be another minute.

I didn't have this problem when I first installed and ran the program, but it seems to hang now ever since my system froze while downloading something.
