Downloads appear to be completing with missing pieces

Postby sander » Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:29 am

I see downloads sometimes with red pieces and I would expect these to be marked as failed, but they seem to complete, but the file (in this case doesn't have a par) is no good. Is there a setting I'm missing?

TIA

What are you expecting it to do? By default it tries twice then assembles the file if the file > 48 hours old. Old files seldom get better.

[SETTINGS]
AutoAssembleTimer=h

h = hours.

If you add this to the NBI file and set H to something long, like 20000 it won't ever assemble files without pars. You'll want to exit Newsbin before you edit the configuration file. You can use wordpad.

I guess my expectation is that if its part of a par group then downloading with missing parts is fine.

If its a standalone data file, with no associated par2 file I would like any missing parts to signify as failure because the file is probably no good.

I will make the change you suggested. Thanks.
