I'm going to reinstall win 7. when I install Newsbin, if I copy this folder and the files in it, "C:\Users\john\AppData\Local\NewsBin" will newsbin be restored to its present state? or are other files and folders I need to copy?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

ps can I install newsbin on three computers? tablet, desktop and laptop?

You should more or less follow the process for moving newsbin to a new computer if you want to avoid any issues. It's outlined here:

You are allowed to install Newsbin on three systems with a single license, yup.
