search not working??

hi, i'm not getting the results i expect from internet search and my count is going down!!!!!
an example is that a search result is available from a group via local but not live via internet.
Ive lost over 20 searches on this alone . im a new user so maybe im doing stuff wrong but so far i dont read anywhere that i shouldnt be able to find such an article.

If you see it locally but not on the inet search, it's probably one of two things: the most likely is you're searching for pictures(or text) - these aren't tracked by the search server, or you have a filter inadvertently set which is limiting your results.

Thanks for the quick response. well yes the files are .jpg. if i search just for jpg i do get lots of picture files though. so i guess the search is indexing the file type but not the description.
