Socket Error 10054

Postby aussiedean » Sat Nov 12, 2011 4:19 am

Hi there,

Just wondering if someone could tell me where to start ..my mother has been using Newsbin Pro 6.11 for a while now and has recently changed over to another provider to trial being UsenetServers as opposed to Giganews and is getting a Socket Error 10054 coming up, doesn't happen all the time jst occassionally. Haven't had a look at a log yet but is there anything I could look at that may need changing?

Thanks

Seems to be sorted, have changed the port and seems okay now. Any more issues may try forwarding the port in the router but seems ok at the moment

No port forwarding is needed for Usenet. It's all client connections to a server out on the net. Most common cause of problems these days is virus scanners and firewalls.
