How to start & stop download at a certain time?

Postby ralfsingles » Thu Nov 10, 2011 8:39 am

Dear Friends,

I am using Newsbin Pro 6.11.

I can only use it from my office connection in the nighttime, between 10 pm and 3 am
and don't want to use more than 300 KBps from our company bandwith.

However, I leave my office at 6 pm.

Is there any chance, to let newsbin start downloading at a set time?

I am aware of the speed limit feature, but it does not help if I want to use limited bandwith in a certain time
and then zero bandwidth at other times.

Any suggestions?
Happy to hear from you
Ralf

The addition of a scheduler that will allow this is part of the 6.20 release, and the latest 6.20 beta is available from the beta area of the forum. You can set whether newsbin is to run full speed, speed limited or paused by hourly slots throughout the week.

You can also use my NBSchedule utility that has been around for a long time and works with all versions of Newsbin to achieve the same effect.
