Adding to Download List - DL fails

Using B4 and love it! But for one glitch...
When I tag posts and select add to download list, they add to the download list. Problem is when the DL starts, they always move to the Failed Downloads. Selecting the failed DL item and adding back to the download list allows completion of the DL.

If I select add to download and bypass filters this does not occur. I don't like doing filter bypass for reasons.

Hmm, you lost me. First off - are these files from local spools, or nzb? Regardless, I certainly haven't seen files *always* going to the failed list - they must be failing for a reason. That, right there, is the starting point for figuring out what's going on. The business of bypassing or not is another issue. You can't download *anything* the first time? That tells me something's up with your config...

OK. I will attempt to explain better. I first DL latest posts for a group. I review the headers and finding one I want to DL, I right click and select Add to Download list. It adds and then fails and move it to the Failed Downloads tab. Under my older version 5.x this only occurred with duplicates (previously DLed). I do not use filters.

what does it say in the logging tab? this is what we need to find out the cause

So to repeat, you're saying *all* downloads fail the first time? Or do you just mean some have? The latter can happen for various reasons (look in the logging tab for a clue), the latter means something is really off.
As Quade sez, it's likely the signature matcher or something added to your global download filter that's munging something up. Try renaming your filters.db3, start up Newsbin and see if you can repeat.

Renaming the filters.db3 appears to have resolved the issue.
Previously, it was failing on all DLs until I readded them. Now it fails only on dups which is good. I really don't understand since I never have used filters.
