Usenet is fast becoming uselessnet. Aside from the frustrating increase in password protected archives being posted, the *AA's have finally set their sites on Usenet and are using the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to take down posts across the alt.binaries hierarchy. iSad

Switch to the EU servers. I've had success with that.

I do use the EU servers and downloading recent movies is nigh impossible.

Your using the wrong servers. I can download any recent movie or tv show even if it is 1840 days old.
