I must be dense

I've tried every permutation I can think of, read the help file and looked at the forums but I still can't figure out why this doesn't work.
There are frequent files named 40.jpg, 38.jpg, etc. Basically, two numbers and .jpg. I want to filter them out but I seem to be unable to do so.
I've tried every combination I can think of. What is the proper expression?

Don't use the quotes. There's a space between the first two brackets. It's possible these files are generated inside Newsbin if it can't find the real filename.

I tried "[ ][0-9][0-9][.]jpg" (without the quotes, of course!) but it didn't work. I'm wondering if I really need the leading [ ]. The filenames actually begin with the number. I'm pretty sure I already tried it by I'm going to try "[0-9][0-9][.]jpg" and see if that works.

Neither expression worked. I continue to get these jpgs. Guess I'll live with them. It's odd, I would like to know where they are coming from though.
