I have been using Newsbin (5.35) for quite some time on Fedora 10. I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to Fedora 12. I shouldn't have upgraded.

I have tried 32-bit and 64-bit Fedora 12. Newsbin starts successfully and does the countdown but Newsbin/Wine pukes on the Motd. I can't get into the program to enter my registration key. I have searched for modifications in Newsbin.nbi or registry entries.

The Wine version is 1.1.32-1.fc12. I have tried Newsbin 5.35 and 5.54.
After the countdown stops, the wine gecko installer windows is open also. Previously i just closed that and went to register the key and turned off motd.

Any ideas?

ive using wine 1.0.1 that it's in the ubuntu repo and works great. i tried using wine's latest versions with no luck.

i would say try some different versions of wine to start with.
