Well, my July of 2020 special finally ran out for Supernews, and I tried to purchase a new plan, but it insists on giving me one option--with VPN.

I need a News Server (I am already using Newbin's product for searches) and need a recommendation. I am *not* a power user and maybe once every week need to download something--usually 4-5 files of a few meg per.

Are there any good servers with decent prices out there I should be looking at?

Usenetserver it is.

From the sound of it you do not download that much so you might find something like newsdemon to be a good choice. They offer non-expiring blocks which can be very appropriate for irregular smallish downloads.
